  1. Overview This is a talk about a method for synthesizing

lists of possible work into a smaller list of work.
  2. Common Prioritization Systems ➔ Cost - Benefit ◆ Effort -

Impact ◆ Difficulty - Value ➔ Frequency - Severity (Cost Loss Model) ◆ Likelihood - Impact ➔ Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability
  3. Benefits ➔ Spreadsheets are great ➔ Take comfort in sufficient,

sortable lists ➔ Can flip back around “but whaaaat about [something not on the list]?” ➔ Forces something to be at the top ➔ Build your fudge factors into the model
  4. Discuss ➔ What examples of “scoring” have you seen? ➔

How do you feel, emotionally, about these activities? ➔ When can they be effective? Ineffective? ➔ Is there any current challenges that you think this approach might help with?
  5. Discuss ➔ The more incongruent/different the items are, the less

helpful it is to organize them. ➔ People / Morale is important dimension ◆ Always dropping priority of bugs feels shitty ◆ Can be useful to include a dimension for the things people want to do ◆ One goal of exercise could be to get “activation energy” to tackle things that have been put off
