Getting into an open-source can be quite intimidating as a designer. It's not something that you can just wake up in the morning and start doing if you've never been a designer before. From a high level, let's "design" our first open-source project, complete with quick methodologies, tips, tricks, and some extra bits.

    be intimidating and confusing based on the level of features you see already prepared with little or no documentation for designers.
  5. Resources: tailored towards how to contribute to open-source as a

    designer. Thanks to Open Source Design, Open Source Initiative and others creating design related content in relation to Open Source
  6. Tools: Developers/companies needs to create more tools to help aid

    designers contribute to open- source effectively.
  7. Designers need to understand how to communicate with Developers and

    Developers have to understand how to communicate with Designers
  8. Open-Source in a nutshell is a free software built by

    the community for the community with improvements shared across different technical talents.
  9. Never start a feature without consulting one of the project

    authors, if its a valid add and how it can also be improved.
  10. Prototype your designs properly if you are contributing to an

    OS project where they careless about design so as to convince them of how this feature is supposed to work and not the way it currently works.
  11. Design is one of the most significant department while building

    a startup product and also working on an open- source project.
  12. The Web has been open-source for designers to contribute to

    using the `Web Inspector` which grants you access to live debugging design in CSS.
  13. Version Control `design history` & Something like Git for Designers,

    Being able to push designs between design tools with ease.
  14. Start Writing Documentations for other designers to see and follow

    along It’s a trend someone has to start
  15. Someone didn’t start because they believed someone else would, at

    have people writing, creating video content, runnings workshops, conference talks, writing research articles and lot’s more Today is the best time to start contributing to open source as a designer and I believe you should start now => GitHub.com
