  4. HOW INTERNAL LINKS WORK • (Google) Bots and crawlers visit

    websites and follow links • Crawlers read anchor text (link text) and learn what is to be found on the target page • Internal links distribute authority across your web pages (pagerank) • The «deeper» a page is hidden, the less important it is deemed. The more links a page receives, the more importance it gains.
