GET EXCEL FROM THE DRIVE TO THE COMPUTER
Double-click to open in your browser in a Google Sheet

1. Click file 2. Click download to .xlsx 3. Using
Chrome, save file (next slide)
2. Click download to .xlsx The data goes somewhere: -
downloads folder - desktop Save to the desktop!
Here it is Warning: If you do not have Excel
on your computer then the file will not look like this
HOW TO IMPORT EXCEL INTO SPSS 1. COMPUTER LAB OR
2. SPSS IS ON YOUR COMPUTER
1. Make sure the Excel file is on your computer
1. Open SPSS If you are in a computer lab
or have SPSS on your computer then simple do the following
2. Click file to open 3. Select Excel 4. Find
your data (on Desktop) 4. Open Now you can do your statistics for the class!
SAVE YOUR SPSS DOCUMENTS FOR HW OUTPUT AND SYNTAX PSY-312
SAVE YOUR DOCUMENTS After you complete all the parts of
the Lab HW, save the: 1. Output (figures) 2. Syntax
SAVE YOUR SPSS OUTPUT
Saving Your Output 1. Click File 2. Click Export
1. Make sure it exports to word 2. Choose the
Desktop 4. Click Ok 3. name it: “/lab#-name-output.doc”
Ready to upload to BB after you have your syntax!

SAVE THE SYNTAX • Syntax allows you to save what
you did and redo it anytime • Otherwise you have to remember what you clicked • You can also tell the story of your data analysis with comments. • Providing syntax and data is necessary for reproducibility
