get out of today’s event • Why we #datalift business and government in Europe • How you can contribute
  2. The COVID-19 pandemic is a very difficult moment It is

impacting our health, economy, and livelihood and it is spurring the creation of digital data Business and government should seize the one great opportunity we have: Scale the data economy
  3. DEPLOY Let's break the proof-of-concept cycle and productionize data analytics

and machine learning What companies need • More and better expertise for deploying use cases successfully • A structure for management, experts, and talents to ship the product • The will and resources to win big in the data economy
  4. We provide #datalift by tapping the community • 500+ startup

and industry practitioners in data analytics and machine learning. • 100+ senior leaders on industry use cases, training, consultancy, or freelance services. • Thousands of talents ready for a first data role.
  5. Get ready to show your use case in production at

one of the next events www.thedatalift.eu
  6. Join the 500+ AI Guild members to make the personal

    connection with peers www.theguild.ai
  7. Work with us on improving #datacareers and on deploying more

data analytics and machine learning in production
  8. ACTP - Supporting Uber Elevate to enable affordable urban air

transport Dr. François Sillion Director, Uber’s Advanced Technologies Center in Paris François Sillion is the director of Uber’s ATCP, focusing on applications to air transport. Uber Elevate’s vision includes machine learning, airspace management, sensing & perception, autonomous control, energy management, and communication networks. Earlier, François was a senior research and director at INRIA. His work has >9500 citations and he has an H-index of 48. Since 2019 he is focused on managing the team that is solving main technical challenges important to Uber Air, building artificial intelligence along with optimization and airspace management systems to support Uber Air at scale and enabling the future of urban air transport. Learn how a company can advance the state of the art while making a difference in people’s lives. Moderated by Dr. Chris Armbruster
  9. Deploying the first Neural Network in energy transmission service: The

Elia Group TSO use case Rachel Berryman, Data Scientist, AI Center of Excellence, Elia Group Rachel is a Data Scientist at the AI Center of Excellence of the Elia Group, which comprises the energy Transmission Service Operator (TSO) for eastern Germany and Belgium. She has been in the field since 2017. Before that, she completed an MSc in Sustainable Development. “As the responsible transmission system operator (TSO) for these regions, the Elia Group is also responsible for integrating the increasing share of renewable energy into the grid. AI is an essential tool in meeting this challenge, but it can be difficult to roll out AI projects in such a highly regulated environment. In this talk, we hear about how they managed to, in less than half a year, deploy a neural network for predicting grid losses that saved 1% in grid loss cost cover in the first year in production. The focus will be on how enabling “citizen development” allowed for such a quick deployment of the model to production.” Moderated by Promit Ray
  10. Machine learning in production: The MYTOYS product list sorting algorithm

Dr. Sebastian Rose, Senior Data Scientist, MYTOYS GROUP Sebastian is a Data Scientist at MYTOYS Group, the No. 1 online retailer for family shopping in Europe. He has been in the field since 2016. Sebastian completed a PhD. in Neurocognitive psychology at the Humboldt University of Berlin. “With more than 21 million visits and 250k products products online on myToys.de is the biggest online retailer platform for young families in Europe. One of the most important challenges of an e-commerce platform is how and in which order products are presented. For this purpose several sorting strategies can be implemented which vary with regard to the involvement of human experts, algorithmic and system complexity. The more sophisticated the algorithm of choice will be at the beginning, the higher the challenges in technical integration and organisational acceptance. Following the principle “start simple, grow complex” these challenges can be balanced. Get a glimpse of how they deployed a product list sorting algorithm that increased conversion rate by 7%, revenue per Visitor by 6,5% and decreased Bounce rate by -12%.” Moderated by Elif Schaefer
  11. Zero Hunger by 2030! How anthropometric measurement helps make the

dream a reality Markus Hinsche Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Freelance (for Welthungerhilfe) Markus Hinsche is a Senior ML Engineer at Welthungerhilfe in the Child Growth Monitor project. He is one of the rare breed of people actually from the Berlin area. He is eager to explore new topics every day. To satisfy this hunger for the unknown, Markus worked at various startups after receiving his Master's degree in IT Systems Engineering at Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam. “Hunger or malnutrition is not simply the lack of food, it is usually a more complex health issue. Child malnutrition is a global problem. We provide a game-changer in measurement and data processing for malnourished children under the age of 5 years. You will see how we developed a solution based on a mobile app to detect malnutrition in children by using smartphone sensors and augmented reality in combination with artificial intelligence.” Moderated by Johanna Viktor
  12. TUBA AI Machine Vision enabling tool: Label, Train, Integrate Mahmoud

AbdelAziz Founder & CEO, DevisionX Mahmoud has 8+ years of spearheading projects & products in many fields of Machine Vision, Robotics, Artificial intelligence, Smart Manufacturing, Quality Control and Software development. He started his first startup QEYE that builds Machine vision solutions for the textile industry. Then, he founded DevisionX for building quality inspection systems using a mix of Machine Vision & AI that can be applied in many industries. Also he was a partner at Digified, that is using computer Vision and AI in FinTech for digital identity verification. “As a response to the high demand for applying AI, we thought about a solution that enables manufacturing experts to solve their daily challenges using AI & Machine Learning without experience & without coding! This is the philosophy of our Tool TUBA “Putting the power of building AI Machine Vision applications/solutions in the hands of manufacturing experts to unlock new levels of efficiency, quality and profitability”. Join us in "Enabling AI Instead of Using AI" session and learn What kind of Barriers Businesses are Facing when using or providing Advanced Technology.” Moderated by Andrés Prada González
  13. On the AI Guild team effort for #datalift No 2

on 27 November 2020 The #datalift campaign and events are the result of a joint effort by the members of the AI Guild. Since the founding in May 2019, the AI Guild community has grown to 500+ members, all active in the field of data analytics and machine learning in tech, product, and business roles. The #datalift campaign website was co-developed by a task force of a dozen members. Likewise, #datalift No 2 on 27 November was co-developed by the AI Guild community, with the core of the use cases coming from members, and the presenters and moderators volunteering to support companies and governments in Europe in learning better sand faster how to productionize data analytics and machine learning. If you would like to join this community, please visit theguild.ai For the AI Guild, Dania Meira and Chris Armbruster
