drip-feed indexing and how do you set it up correctly? 10 steps to launch a backlink-indexing campaign that grows naturally, survives errors and reports results per portion. Inside this checklist 1. Phase A — Prepare the link list (steps 1–3) 2. Phase B — Configure the drip-feed campaign (steps 4–6) 3. Phase C — Monitor, fix, re-submit (steps 7–9) 4. Step 10 — Post-campaign review + printable summary 5. What NOT to do · Sources Bulk: all on day 1 Drip-feed: even portions → day 30 day 1 Prepared by Linda Bjorkvin, Project Manager, SpeedyIndex Full guide: en.speedyindex.com/drip-feed-indexing · Service: en.speedyindex.com day 30
O R E Y O U S TA R T Prepare the link list Most "indexing problems" are list problems. Ten minutes of cleanup protects the whole campaign budget. 1. Collect and deduplicate every backlink URL Export placements from your outreach sheet, link-building vendors and monitoring tools into one list. Remove duplicates and URL variants (http/https, trailing slash, tracking parameters). How: normalize URLs to their canonical form; one URL = one line. Keep the source (vendor, campaign) as a column — you will need it for per-segment analysis in step 7. 2. Verify each page is technically indexable A page that returns an error or forbids indexing will never be indexed, no matter how it is submitted. Check: HTTP status is 200 (not 3xx chains, 4xx, 5xx) · no noindex in meta robots or X-Robots-Tag · not blocked in robots.txt · canonical does not point to a different URL · the page renders your link without JavaScript errors. Tip from SpeedyIndex campaigns: broken placements are found in almost every large list — filtering them out first is the cheapest indexing-rate improvement available. 3. Segment links by type and priority Guest posts, profiles, directories, comments and tier-2 links behave differently. Mixed reporting hides which segment fails. How: tag each URL with a segment (e.g. guest-post / profile / tier-2) and a priority. High-value placements go into the campaign first; expendable tiers can follow later portions. PA I G N S E T U P Configure the drip-feed schedule The goal of drip-feed is a steady, natural-looking submission pace with room to react. Three settings define it. 4. Choose the campaign duration Duration should match how the links appeared. Links built over weeks should not all demand indexing in one day. Rule of thumb: spread the campaign over 2–4 weeks for a typical link-building batch; longer for large lists. In SpeedyIndex Drip-Feed Mode you set the period and the service spreads daily portions automatically. 5. Set the daily portion size Portion size = list size ÷ duration. Keep it consistent — the even pace is the whole point. How: for 1,000 links over 30 days that is ~30–35 links/day. Avoid front-loading ("500 today, the rest later") — that recreates the bulk spike you are trying to avoid. 6. Mix segments inside every portion If day 1–10 is only directories and day 11–20 only guest posts, per-portion stats stop being comparable and the pattern looks scripted. How: shuffle the list so each daily portion contains a similar mix of segments and target pages. Keep the segment tags — mixing the schedule does not mean losing the labels. Tip: reserve ~10% of the budget for re-submissions in Phase C instead of scheduling 100% of links upfront. Drip-Feed Indexing Checklist · Phase B · page 3 of 6 SpeedyIndex · en.speedyindex.com
L E T H E C A M PA I G N R U N S Monitor, fix, re-submit Drip-feed gives you something bulk never does: time. Use it — the campaign is a feedback loop, not a fire-andforget upload. 7. Track indexing rate per portion and per segment One aggregate number hides problems. A healthy campaign shows portions performing consistently; a weak segment shows up as a dip. How: check each portion's indexed share a few days after submission (SpeedyIndex reports this per campaign; you can also spot-check with an index checker). Compare segments from step 3 — if tier-2 lags while guest posts index, the list, not the method, is the issue. 8. Diagnose what stayed out of the index An unindexed URL is a symptom, not a task. Resubmitting it blindly spends the budget twice — first find out why it stayed out. Checklist for each unindexed URL: re-run the technical checks from step 2 · look at the hosting domain: is the rest of the site indexed at all? · thin or duplicated page content is a common reason — Google's spam policies describe what gets filtered · very deep pages (many clicks from the home page) with no internal links pointing to them are hard for any crawler to reach. 9. Fix and re-submit — while the campaign is still running This is the drip-feed advantage: failures found on day 5 can be fixed and re-entered into later portions. How: pause a failing segment, fix what is fixable (or replace placements), and add corrected URLs to the remaining schedule using the ~10% reserve from step 6. Unfixable placements go to an exclusion list for your next vendor conversation. Drip-Feed Indexing Checklist · Phase C · page 4 of 6 SpeedyIndex · en.speedyindex.com
M PA I G N Review — and keep the numbers 10. Run a post-campaign review Twenty minutes of review turns one campaign into a benchmark for every future one. Record: final indexed share overall and per segment · which fixes from step 9 worked · which vendors/placement types underperformed · the portion size and duration you would use next time. In SpeedyIndex, unindexed links are covered by the 100% refund — reconcile the report against your invoice.
