are being searched for right now, but is this going to last? NextAtlas have also been tracking many similar signals and they are predicting steady growth across key spiritual topics. Steady growth is the key takeaway here as this tends to indicate that a ‘trend’ is here to stay and typically will have bigger cultural impact.
the global data so that we can include Instagram in our analysis. Globally we can see that Twitter is still home to the majority of mentions of astrology by a large margin, followed by Instagram and then TikTok (Twitter has more than double the amount of posts that TikTok does). But when we fi lter this data by engagements, and then views, the picture changes drastically, and it becomes all about TikTok. This isn’t unusual for TikTok, but what is interesting is that until a couple of years ago, Instagram was considered the de-facto home to new age/woo content but things have changed.

community are almost four times more likely to be female than male. They are also incredibly likely to be 25-34 years old, which is a pretty even split between older Gen Z and younger millennials. Women are more likely to talk about astrology than men is all age ranges, but the disparity is more intense in the 18-24 demographic. The red pill boys are really not into astrology, and neither are their Xennial counterparts.

They are also quite likely to be parents. They are more likely to be artists/creators than they are coaches (a disparity from the Instagram audience whose number one uniting interest is coaching) The rest of the interests also show that this is a much more grounded, modern, regular-female-on-the-internet audience than the more mystical and new age focus of Instagram.
chart shows us what’s trending up around Astrology on TikTok and Google in the US Previously, mainstream astrology knowledge was quite limited, people primarily knew what their ‘star sign’ (actually their sun sign) was and little beyond that. Now when we look at what people are posting about on TikTok and searching for on Google in the US. that’s on an upward trajectory we see an entirely di ff erent picture. Venus signs are trending up 25% YoY Water Signs are trending up 21% YoY
trending up by 73% on TikTok since January this year when we compare it to the previous six months Astrology Girlies are gaining traction with 190% increase.
see social media data, across all platforms, globally tracking the mentions of “mercury retrograde” in blue and “mars retrograde” in red and venus retrograde in yellow between November 2024 and March 2025, during which time period all planets were retrograde for at least a part of it. Mercury, as you’ll see from the chart was actually retrograde twice during this search, while Mars and Venus were only retrograde once for longer periods of time. What this data shows us, is that there were only just over twice as many mentions of Mercury as there were Venus, yet Mercury Retrograde is arguably the best known astrology transit of all. Understanding of planets and planetary cycles is deepening.
this one tag is averaging over 2.6 million views a month right now, as Pluto ingressed into Aquarius we were seeing around 20 million views a month. These are big numbers for astrology transits. Specific transits enter the vernacular
news, but it does further emphasise how much deeper a knowledge the current astrology audience has about the topic. To understand a meme, one must understand the context. If you don’t, the meme doesn’t work. Instagram is the home of the astrology meme (millennials LOVE an astrology meme) and the hashtag on Insta currently has 1.5 million associated hashtags. The subreddit r/astrologymemes currently has 364k members.
of self care Wellness and skincare routines are increasingly aligning with natural cycles like circadian and lunar rhythms. This trend signi fi es a holistic approach by consumers towards self-care and wellness, emphasizing nature's role in wellbeing. Typical examples include activities timed with lunar phases or daily routines synced with the body's internal clock. The growing popularity of this trend points towards a future where wellness routines deeply rooted in natural rhythms may become mainstream.
gaining traction among globe-trotting millennials, o ff ers a unique intersection of astrology and geography to determine destinations that may align with their individual fate and personal growth. The concept is being widely discussed across the internet, with users sharing their transformative experiences tied to speci fi c locations, according to one's astrological chart. In the future, this alignment between astral and terrestrial might shape the way we choose travel destinations or potential residing places.
