4. Definitions of aesthetics usually refer to beauty and art. THE WHAT Now what is Aesthetics in UI/UX Design?
5. Aesthetics refers to the way a product looks and feels. The first impression of a product is often visual, making aesthetics very important. Aesthetics, can influence a user's opinion of a product. Aesthetics includes factors such as balance, color, movement, pattern, scale, shape and visual weight. Designers use aesthetics to complement their designs’ usability, and so enhance functionality with attractive layouts.
6. THE WHY Good aesthetics attract people to your designs.
8. How to balance usability and aesthetics? It depends on who is using/consuming/viewing your product. UI UX designers have entire careers built around creating the best balance possible. There are cases where we don’t really care too much about how something looks as long as it performs the function needed when it’s needed.
9. However, the smaller your audience, the more complex a design could become. A designer can then create aesthetics that are meant to be understood and appreciated by a very specific set of people who enjoy the complexity rather than be confused because of it.
