Data Intelligence on Lakehouse Paradigm

By the end of 2025, Databricks had started building out local User Groups in several countries—Taiwan included. At the second meetup of the Taiwan Databricks User Group, I agreed to give a talk. The cadence and vibe were definitely a bit different from the AWS and GCP user communities.

As for the talk itself, I started back in 2019 where we took care of 'animals in a zoo' and how that led me to the Lakehouse architecture. I moved from a PoC to where we are now: a six-person team (dedicated to the Lakehouse system) that, within agile sprints, each puts with proper amount of time to co-manage a Lakehouse platform that benefits everyone at my company.

I also touched on the practical realities of building a Lakehouse—things that aren’t purely about engineering. And in today’s AI wave, it’s not just the Lakehouse platform rapidly adding agentic capabilities. The software development world at large is feeling a tangible shift as AI collaboration becomes the norm. In the middle of that change, I shared a few mindsets worth keeping.

If the deck—or being there in person—sparked anything for you, whether it gave you a clearer grasp of the Lakehouse, a fresh way to look at things, or simply some encouragement for your own rollout, I’d really appreciate a share or a like. Thanks for reading—see you next time.
