Artificial Intelligence AI) refers to systems capable of performing tasks traditionally requiring human intelligence. The majority of AI systems are developed using machine learning ML, which leverages extensive datasets to construct and validate decision logic, forming the foundation of an AI model. Once deployed, AI applications input data into these models to generate outputs that resemble human decision-making. The rapid evolution of ML technologies, the exponential growth of data, and the widespread availability of scalable computing resources are enabling businesses to accelerate their adoption of AI—particularly generative AI—for enhanced innovation and efficiency. Generative AI is a type of AI that can create new content and ideas, including conversations, stories, images, videos, and music. Like most AI, gen AI is powered by ML models—very large models that are pre-trained on vast amounts of data and commonly referred to as foundation models FMs.
