All rights reserved. 13 課題 多くの顧客が新たに購⼊したネットワーク接続型の Roomba 掃除機を試そうとした結果、iRobot HOME アプリケーション (インターネット接続型のロボット の設定と制御に使⽤されるモバイルアプリケーショ ン) で⼤量のトラフィックが発⽣しました。iRobot は、これまで主にハードウェアベンダーとして事業を 運営してきましたが、この時、顧客向けの⾼可⽤性ク ラウドアプリケーションと IoT バックエンドプラッ トフォームを運⽤する能⼒に賭けて、基幹業務を転換 しようとしていました。 ソリューション iRobot では、AWS IoT Core と AWS Lambda を ベースとするサーバーレスアーキテクチャを使⽤する ことで、クラウドプラットフォームのコストを低く抑 え、サブスクリプションサービスを不要にし、10 ⼈ 未満の⼈員でソリューションを管理しています。 AWS IoT Core はロボットと iRobot クラウドプラッ トフォームの間の接続レイヤーとなり、数⼗億台のデ バイスと AWS やその他のエンドポイントの間で数兆 件のメッセージを処理できるようになります。 https://aws.amazon.com/jp/solutions/case-studies/irobot/
