    established Domain Authority (DA) and "Trust" of a third-party website to rank content for highly competitive keywords that your own domain couldn't handle. The 2026 Context It’s no longer just "renting a subfolder." In 2026, Parasite SEO is defined as Authority Hijacking. You are essentially using a "host" site as a shield against Google’s sandbox and E-E-A-T requirements for new domains. Lifespan: Many parasites used to last 9 months before, but now they can be detected by SpamBrain AI and demoted within weeks. LLM poisoning: LLMs are also influenced by Parasite sites, so there is a chance to also get mentioned by LLMs. No brand awareness: When a user finds your content on Medium or Reddit, they often associate the value with the platform, not your brand.
