Modern web frameworks, methodologies, and tools provide developers and project managers the opportunities to create bigger and more complex web applications in today’s fast moving world. In this presentation, Su and Brian will discuss the advantages and challenges of moving from development in a legacy system to a completely revamped environment using modern techniques.
Su Wang – Bio
As a software engineer in the Academic Web Technologies group at the University of California, Irvine, Su is no stranger to dealing with enterprise systems, some old, some new. Su spends most of his days working on the award-winning Electronic Educational Environment (EEE) course management system at UCI. While not having his eyes glued to a computer screen, Su enjoys snowboarding and driving the canyon roads.
Brian Payne – Bio
Brian is a recent graduate from University of California, Irvine. As a student, he worked as a developer for UCI’s Electronic Educational Environment (EEE) course management system at UCI. After he graduated he decided to stick around and now works full-time on the site. In the time he spent working at EEE, he experienced the methodology shift that came along with the threefold increase in developer manpower.
