They trained at Moton Field in Alabama Three airmen orginiated in the Caribbean (Haiti, Virgin Is. and Trinidad) Originating States Initially based in Morocco, the groups moved to Sicily and on to Ramitelli, Italy. Sites of Aeiral Victories Aircraft Flown by the Tuskegee Airmen Unit Organization Squadrons Military Honors Awarded 8 14 96 744 3 Distinguished Unit Citations Operations The group operated in Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary and Czechoslovakia and scored 121 aerial victories and performed 79 bomber escort missions with a low 3.9% mission loss rate.
