3. WHAT IS THE MOVABLE TYPE ? • Developed in U.S. in 2001 • Blogging and Web CMS Software • Over half of NIKKEI 225 companies are our user
4. MARKET SHARE IN JAPAN • Over 80% share in Commercial CMS market (except for Open Source CMS)

8. TALK AS AN INDIVIDUAL • Sometimes you may want to get in the community and sell your products, but this is a completely wrong way. • The Community is not a sales representative. If you want to sale your products or services though the community, the community members will surely reject you. • When in Rome, do as the Romans do. • When you communicate with members in the community, first, forget about your organization and talk as an individual.

MAKE SUPPORTERS IN THE ORGANIZATION • A number of Developer Relation personnel in small companies / organizations, Start Up is small. • If you are the only person who currently is in charge of the Developer Relation, make supporters inside the company. • Do not try to solve everything alone with your own abilities, make friends and move on together.

12. CHANGE PERSONNEL • There is inevitably "compatibility" among humans. • If there are 100 people, there are 10 people who are poor compatibility with you. • Human relationship is illogical, complex, and emotional. • Even if you try mix water and oil, you probably will not go well.
13. BUSINESS PARTNER AND COMMUNITY ARE DIFFERENT. BOTH ARE IMPORTANT.

BOTH ARE IMPORTANT. • If you are a member of the company, there should be business partners. • The user community is different from business partner. • It is one of the most important tasks for Developer Relation personnel to protect the independence of the user community. • This doesn’t mean to ignore what business partners say.

PAY RESPECT TO EACH OTHER • The relationship with the user community is like a business but not a business. • The most important thing to grow such a relationship is to "respect each other". • Understand each difference and diversity. • If mutual respect can be paid, you are able to overcome the problem.
